TV mounted on the ceiling — bedrooms, kitchens, home gyms, garages, over expensive fireplace surrounds. We work with drywall, concrete, suspended, and vaulted ceilings. Safety first, always. Starting at $199 for standard ceilings up to 9 feet.
A TV mounted overhead is a serious responsibility. If we're not 100% confident the ceiling can hold the weight safely, we'll tell you upfront and we won't do the install — we're not in the business of taking money for a job we're not sure will hold.
We find the joists, use rated hardware sized for the TV's weight, and do a real-world pull test before we leave. If the answer is "this ceiling isn't right for what you want," you'll get an honest answer instead of a falling TV six months later.
Ceiling mounts make sense for spaces where a wall mount doesn't work — either there's no good wall, or you want to watch lying down, or you don't want to drill into a premium surface. Common LA scenarios.
The classic "watch TV from bed" setup. Mounted directly above or angled toward the bed for comfortable lying-down viewing.
So you can watch while cooking without giving up counter space. Often above the island, sometimes over the sink.
When your fireplace surround is marble, tile, or stone — and you don't want to drill into expensive material. Ceiling mount lets you skip the surround entirely.
Wall space is usually mirror or equipment, so ceiling makes sense. Visible from anywhere in the gym while you work out.
Often the only practical spot — walls full of tools, no good viewing wall. Ceiling-mounted means watchable from anywhere in the garage.
Hospitality and commercial spaces where overhead TVs are visible to more people. Often suspended-ceiling installations.
Three main approaches depending on how you want the TV to behave when not in use. We don't install flip-down (drop-down style) mounts — those have a different mechanism we don't currently work with.
The TV hangs at a set position permanently. Simplest, most reliable, and usually the most affordable. Best for bedrooms, gyms, and any spot where the TV doesn't need to move.
The TV hangs at a fixed position but you can adjust the angle — useful when the viewing position is below the TV (like watching from bed). Set the angle once and forget it.
The TV lowers from the ceiling on a motor when you want to watch, and retracts when you don't. Premium option — usually for bedrooms or hidden installations where you want the TV completely out of sight when off.
If you have an unusual ceiling and you're not sure whether it'll work — just send us a photo. If we can't tell remotely, we'll come out and give you an in-person assessment.
Wall mounts have an outlet nearby. Ceiling mounts almost never do — which means getting power to the TV is the most complex part of the project. Here's how we approach it.
Adding a new outlet on a ceiling is electrical work that requires a licensed electrician — it's not part of our standard service. We can give you the contact info for licensed electricians we trust, and once they've installed the outlet, we'll come back and mount the TV.
If you don't want to go through that process, there's a simpler alternative: we run an extension cord from the TV across the ceiling to the nearest wall outlet, inside a white plastic cord concealer painted or matched to your ceiling color. It's not invisible like in-wall cabling, but it's clean, code-compliant, and a lot faster than scheduling an electrician.
For HDMI and source-device connections — same story. We can run cables across the ceiling in the concealer, or go through the ceiling cavity if the structure allows. See our cord concealment service for what's possible.
Standard ceiling TV mounting for ceilings up to 9 feet high. Above 9 feet is quoted separately — it costs more because of the extra equipment, time, and complexity, and depends on the TV size and exact height. Add cord concealment, soundbar, or other services for a bundled quote. We'll text you a confirmed flat quote once we understand your setup.
If a ceiling isn't safe for the TV you want to mount, we tell you. We won't install something we're not 100% sure will hold.
Hundreds of installs across LA and a perfect rating earned one job at a time. Same standard for ceiling mounts as for everything else.
If something we mounted comes loose, shifts, or fails because of our work — we come back and fix it free.
Yes — when done right. We find the structural support, use rated hardware appropriate for your TV's weight, and do a real-world pull test before leaving. The risk comes from cheap installs that skip those steps. We don't. If we're not confident in the ceiling, we won't do the install — we'll tell you why and suggest alternatives.
No — that's licensed electrical work, not part of our standard service. We can refer you to licensed electricians we trust, then come back to mount the TV once power is in place. Or we can run an extension cord in a white plastic cord concealer to your nearest wall outlet, which is much faster and avoids the electrician step entirely.
Yes, but ceilings above 9 feet are quoted separately because they need different equipment, more time, and a different approach. Send us photos with a reference (a person standing under the spot, or the height marked) and we'll quote it. Vaulted and sloped ceilings are also possible but priced based on the angle and complexity.
Yes, or you can buy your own. If you want recommendations, we'll send you links to brackets we've used and trust. If you buy one we haven't seen, send us the model number first and we'll let you know if it'll work for your TV and ceiling.
Not when properly installed — we anchor into structural members, not just drywall. The mount carries the weight to the framing above, which is designed to hold loads much heavier than a TV. The risk is in skipping the framing and just screwing into drywall, which is what we'd never do.
Anywhere from 60 to 120 minutes depending on the ceiling type, the mount type, and what's involved with the power and cables. Simple drywall ceiling with a fixed mount and short cord run is closer to 60. Concrete ceiling with a motorized mount and concealed cabling can hit 120 or more.
Text us your ceiling height, ceiling type (if you know it), TV size, where you want it mounted, and your address. A photo of the spot helps a lot. We'll reply with a flat quote before we arrive.
