Mounting a TV above your fireplace is one of the most beautiful setups in any living room — and one of the trickiest. We've completed more than 1,250 over-fireplace installs and worked every surface LA has: brick, stone, marble, tile, porcelain, plaster, stucco, and drywall. Starting at $99 for standard installs.
We've completed more than 1,250 over-fireplace TV installations across LA. Within that, MANTEL MOUNTS — pull-down brackets that let you bring the TV down for viewing and push it back up when you're done — make up over 200 of those installs.
Our over-fireplace TV mounting covers the full install — surface assessment, drilling, bracket attachment, TV mounting, alignment, and audio handoff. Mounting brackets are priced separately: we can use yours, or supply one of ours.
Before we drill anything, we check what's behind the surface — studs, masonry anchors, hollow brick — to confirm the wall can safely hold the weight.
Tile, marble, porcelain, and stone need specialized bits and slow, controlled drilling to avoid cracking the surface. We bring the right tools for each material.
We attach the bracket using the right anchors for your surface — different hardware for drywall, plaster, brick, concrete, marble and tile.
TV goes up perfectly centered above the mantel, measured twice and verified with a laser level.
Fireplaces make cord concealment more complex than a flat wall. We'll walk you through the options — surface-mounted, in-wall (when possible), or a new outlet — and price separately. See our cord concealment service.
A working fireplace can push temperatures above what most TVs are rated for — and over time, that shortens screen life or damages internal components. We take this seriously. Before we mount anything, we'll talk through the heat situation with you.
If your fireplace is decorative or rarely used, the heat factor is minor. If it's a working wood or gas fireplace that gets used regularly, the temperature directly above the mantel can climb high enough to matter. We help you think through the trade-offs honestly — sometimes the best move is to raise the mount higher, sometimes we recommend a heat deflector above the mantel, and occasionally we'll tell a client that the specific fireplace setup makes mounting a bad idea.
We'd rather lose the sale than install a TV that gets damaged six months later.
Rarely or never lit. Standard mounting works fine, no heat concerns.
We assess the mantel depth and the heat path. Often we'll recommend raising the mount or adding a deflector.
If we think mounting is risky for your specific fireplace, we'll say so. Better to know now than after damage.
Bracket selection for over-fireplace installs is critical. The wrong bracket is the single most common reason fireplace TV mounts go badly. We'll tell you what to buy — for free — before you spend money on hardware that won't work.
Most clients buy their own bracket, and that's fine — but please send us a photo of your fireplace and TV first, or hop on a quick video call. Fireplace mounts depend on so many specifics (surface type, mantel depth, TV size, weight, viewing angle) that picking the right bracket without seeing the setup is mostly guesswork.
We'll review your photos and tell you exactly what bracket will work. Or — if you don't want to deal with any of this — just tell us, and we'll bring a bracket that's guaranteed to work for your setup. No research, no shopping, no second-guessing. We handle it.
LA fireplaces come in every material imaginable — from 1920s brick to brand-new porcelain slabs. We handle all of it. Here's what to expect.
Over-fireplace mounts come with their own set of complications that flat walls don't have. Here are the issues we run into most often, and what we do about them.
Common in older LA homes. Solutions range from in-wall cable runs to bringing in a licensed electrician for a new outlet — every fireplace is different, and we'll walk you through the options after seeing photos.
A single-stud bracket on a brick fireplace, for example, won't hold reliably. We see clients show up with brackets that aren't right for their setup. That's why we ask for photos first — to catch this before the install day.
Many full-motion brackets max out at 65" or 75". If you have a big TV and want articulation, we'll tell you what bracket can actually carry the weight safely.
Solid brick (no air gap behind it) means you can't run cables through it. We'll recommend a surface-mounted concealer or an exterior cable path.
On some fireplaces — usually shallow mantels or unstable surfaces — using a full-motion bracket is a bad idea regardless of TV size. We'll be honest if that's your situation and suggest a fixed or tilt mount instead.
This is the most case-by-case part of fireplace mounting. We can't tell you in advance what'll work until we see the wall. See our cord concealment service for context, but the fireplace version is always custom.
Standard over-fireplace TV mounting labor on drywall, plaster, stucco, brick, or similar surfaces. Premium surfaces (marble, tile, porcelain) and pull-down mantel mounts are priced higher. We'll text you a confirmed flat quote once we understand your setup and what the job will involve.
Hundreds of installs across LA and a perfect rating earned one job at a time. We do it right or we don't get paid.
Fireplace mounting is its own specialty. We're not learning on your TV — we've done more than 1,250 fireplace installs across every surface LA has, including 200+ mantel mounts.
If something we mounted comes loose, shifts, or fails because of our work — we come back and fix it free.
It depends entirely on your fireplace. If it's decorative or rarely used, it's a great look. If it's a working wood or gas fireplace, heat can be a real factor — we'll talk through it honestly with you. Sometimes raising the mount higher or adding a heat deflector solves it. Occasionally we'll tell a client their specific setup isn't a great fit. We'd rather lose the sale than install a TV that gets damaged.
You can — but please send us a photo of your fireplace and TV first, or do a quick video call. Bracket selection for fireplace mounts is the most common reason these installs go wrong. We'll tell you exactly what to buy for free, or we can bring one of ours.
Yes — we do this regularly. Marble, tile, and porcelain all require diamond-tipped bits and slow, careful drilling to avoid cracking. It takes longer than drywall, but we've done hundreds of these and we don't crack stone.
Cord concealment over a fireplace is more complex than on a flat wall — every fireplace is different, and we usually can't tell what'll work until we see the wall. Options include in-wall runs, surface concealers, or having a licensed electrician add a new outlet. See our cord concealment service for general context, but the fireplace version is always handled case by case.
Most over-fireplace installs take 20–60 minutes depending on the surface and the bracket. Drywall is fast, marble or porcelain takes longer because of the careful drilling. We'll give you an accurate time estimate with the flat quote.
Absolutely — and we recommend it for over-fireplace setups especially, because TV speakers aimed up at a high mount don't carry sound well. We can mount the soundbar above or below the TV in one visit. See our soundbar mounting service.
Text us your TV size, your fireplace surface (brick, stone, drywall, etc.), whether the fireplace is working or decorative, your address, and when you'd like it installed. A photo of the fireplace makes the quote faster and more accurate. We'll reply with a flat price before we arrive.
